47% of Black Men over 20 have some form of heart disease. In our city there’s a gap that underlies this fact: Men in Roxbury are expected to live nearly 30 years less than their counters in Back Bay.
BMR Boston started as a space where Black Men across the diaspora can fully embody the phrase: “Black. Lives. Matter,” by being an antidote to that statistic…and bridging that gap.
We also know how important it is to join arms in community with allies to bring BLM to life by raising awareness ALL across the city. With the help of our friends @Saucony & @Heartbreak, we’re inviting you to join us to BRIDGE the GAP!
We’ll run a 4-miler (route here) to uplift Black Life, show our collective spirit of equity…and make connections that invest in Black Health.
Whether you identity as Black or not, we’d love to run in community with you and celebrate possibility. All people, all paces, all genders encouraged and welcomed to join us.
Let’s bridge the gap!
